Serino Architects is a new, yet established, architectural design firm in Thunder Bay, ON. We are committed to meaningful, durable, and sustainable buildings through a collaborative, experienced and culturally sensitive design process.

Our office works on a variety of projects at all scales and complexity, from small additions and private residences to large cultural and institutional projects.

Our unique local team brings a collaborative approach to design, working closely with our clients, and involving Community members, throughout the design and construction process. Integrating and respecting the natural landscape and land is a key part of our process, creating a cohesive environment between the buildings and site.

Serino Architects is small, energetic team of architects and technologists, working on a diverse range of architectural projects within Thunder Bay, ON and the surrounding region. Our office is an inclusive and collaborative space and we endeavour to create a fun and engaging work environment.
We are seeking ambitious, self-motivated, and detailed oriented applicants interested in the opportunity to grow and develop with our new practice.

All candidates will need to demonstrate the following:

Excellent time management and organization skills.

Strong written and spoken English language skills, and interpersonal skills.

Working knowledge of Revit (mandatory).

Working knowledge of Sketchup / Adobe Suites is an asset (not mandatory).
The position(s) will be to assist in the development of design and working drawings, with the option to lead projects, based on experience.
Architectural Designer/Intern Architect
For this position, the ability to produce design and working drawings efficiently that communicate design and construction intent in a clear and accurate manner is a key asset.

2 to 5 years post graduate full time architectural office experience.

Working knowledge of building codes and building construction.

Produce high-quality design and construction drawings, including detail drawings.
Architect
For this position, the ability to manage staff on larger projects and independently manage / develop smaller projects is a key asset.

5-10 years post graduate work experience in design, documentation, and project management.

Manage project communication with the team and consultants, with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.

Knowledge of building systems, envelope design/detailing and OBC code requirements.

Experience in material and product specification.

Detail oriented with strong design sensibilities.

Demonstrated experience in Construction Contract Administration

Registered Architect with Ontario Association of Architects or Architectural Technologist with Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario
